Hong Kong Island: I Refuse to Take Miss Hong Kong for Fish Noodles

At Fook Kee Cafe in Causeway Bay, a girl with dazzlingly pale skin sits across from me, her eyes red as she asks why I'm avoiding her. I pick up a bite of fish noodles without looking up. The men at the nearby tables all slow down as they swallow their wonton noodles. A beauty like her could have men fighting over her even if she threw herself at them. She leans closer, and the scent of her perfume mingles with the soft touch of her body. I wipe my mouth and set down my chopsticks. "You're wonderful, but I really don't like you." She freezes for three seconds, grabs her bag, turns, and pushes out through the door. Her rush leaves a broad patch of fog wiped from the glass.
