Five hundred years ago, Ling Tiandao ascended to Sword Emperor, dominating the nine heavens. Yet, just as he entered the Saint Realm, a giant hand of spiritual power crushed his body. Reborn five hundred years earlier, he returns to the moment his family discovers a spiritual land and the Shi family sends people to "lease" it. Third Elder Ling Peng holds all the power and is just waiting for him to sign. In his past life, the Shi family seized the land and quickly rose to prominence, while the Ling family fell into ruin. An elder of the Seven Star Sect took his younger sister away under the pretense of making her a disciple, then drained her essence until she died.
This time, he walks to the seat of honor and looks at Third Elder Ling Peng. "You think you're fit to sit in my seat?" With a mere glance, Ling Peng is sent sprawling to the ground. Shi Yan tosses him the contract. Ling Tiandao takes up his brush and rewrites it: "The Shi family is subordinate to the Ling family and must pay us eighty percent every month. Anyone who trespasses on Ling family grounds will die." Then he tosses it back.
Shi Yan tears up the contract and roars, "My Shi family will wipe out every last member of your Ling family!"
Ling Tiandao replies, "You can try."
That night, he activates the Heavenly Demon Talisman from his previous life. His spiritual power covers hundreds of meters, allowing him to see through every killing intent. The Shi family is coming to annihilate them. He goes to the Wan Quan Trade Association and seeks out Xiao Teng, the strongest swordsman in town. Xiao Teng looks down on him, but Ling Tiandao subdues him with a single sword strike, leaving him kneeling on the ground. That strike carries the sword intent of the Sword Emperor from his previous life. Xiao Teng's master trembles at the door. "This is... a being beyond the Grandmaster realm!"
The whole town thinks the Ling family is doomed. Only Ling Tiandao knows that a mere Shi family isn't even worthy of his sword sheath from his previous life.
