I’m Su Xi, the Zombie Emperor of the apocalypse. I lived for a thousand years, commanded a million zombies, and was finally struck dead by lightning.
When I woke up, I was lying on a metal bed. My skin was warm, my heart was beating, and my palm had a pulse.
For the first time in a thousand years, I was warm.
The good news: I’d transmigrated into a new body, in a new world with fresh air and no stench of decay. The bad news: this body had an E-grade fitness rating and was so weak I got winded after a few steps. Worse still, I’d been assigned to the worst squad at the entire military academy, F6. My teammates were a nouveau riche pigeon keeper, a perpetually gloomy PTSD sufferer, a cyborg liable to explode at any moment, an alien refugee who snapped at everyone, and a clueless rookie who did nothing but shout, “Captain, I want to win!”
They all thought I was useless.
I thought they were useless too.
But I’m a patient emperor. My strategy is simple: first, keep them alive; then, make them listen to me; finally, turn them into the strongest lunatics in the entire galaxy.
The Federal Military Academy League is coming. While other teams are studying tactics, I’m figuring out how to keep my “zombies” from biting people. While other teams are upgrading their mechs, I’m planning how to rob their equipment depots. Other teams’ motto is “Fight for glory.” Ours is: “Charge wherever the captain says. Even if it’s wrong, charge anyway.”
Eventually, they realized that everyone who charged with me won. Before long, the whole galaxy knew that F6 from Lanxing Military Academy was a squad of lunatics.
What they didn’t know was that the captain of those lunatics had once ruled over a mountain of corpses. The first lesson she taught them was this: staying alive matters more than anything. If you’re alive, you can win.
It's a very nice book, but the number of words is touching and it's not finished yet.
