In the harem, imperial favor is a survival KPI.
When Shen Qingyan enters the palace, she refuses to curry favor or compete for the emperor’s attention, which only makes the entire harem wary of her. The concubines pretend to be sisters, then poison and frame her behind her back. Rumors, false accusations, and fabricated evidence come one after another, all aimed at destroying her.
Emperor Xiao Heng is deeply suspicious, yet he falls for the one woman who does not flatter him. Suspicion, jealousy, possessiveness, and restraint leave him torn in every direction.
Traps close in around her, and she is even wrongfully sent to the Cold Palace. Shen Qingyan does not rely on the emperor to save her. With her own strength, she tears apart every scheme in the palace and turns the tables.
She does not covet wealth or lose herself in love, yet she makes the Son of Heaven let down every defense and devote himself to her alone.
