They Wrote on the Bodies

A new author's work, so please be kind and offer plenty of feedback. The beginning may be a little rough, but stick with it and you might find it gets good later 😌 The second volume is now being updated.

The story follows Lin Xi, a young mortician who encounters a series of bizarre rule-based incidents at a funeral home. Born with the ability to see messages left by the dead, he has spent years pretending to be ordinary just to get by. As coworkers go missing and the director's inhuman nature, an underground seal, an ancient town-wide formation, and the primordial entity known as the Void gradually come to light, Lin Xi is dragged from his ordinary life as a mortician into a system of seals spanning a thousand years. He pays one price after another through blood sacrifices, paper talismans, spirit-guiding rites, the Ten Directions Formation, and deals with the half-rotted. In the end, instead of continuing to suppress the evil, he uses his own bloodline to rewrite the contract, transforming the prison that once held the Void into a ferry crossing to guide departed souls onward. This is a story about fear, sacrifice, understanding, and the rebuilding of order.
