Chen Shuo is reborn as a mayfly with a full three days to live, far longer than the lifespan of its dawn-born, dusk-dead kin. Calling itself comfortably well-off would hardly be an exaggeration.
But give someone a thousand coins and they will want ten thousand; make them emperor and they will want to become immortal. Insects are greedy, and three days is far too short compared with the thousand-year lifespans, or outright immortality, enjoyed by other magical beasts.
