Wasteland: I Make Others Become Gu Masters

I am a book called Hope.

Civilization has collapsed, and the land has become a lifeless wasteland.

Countless mutated, ferocious beasts roam the wilderness, their fangs and claws reaping lives. The humans left alive huddle inside walled cities, relying on their ramparts to keep the threat of death at bay.

I sleep among broken walls and ruins.

I have no flesh and blood, cannot wield a blade, and cannot run.

But I can choose an ordinary person trapped in dire straits and grant them the power of a Gu Master.

Store Gu in the aperture, command Gu with your will, gather Gu materials, and refine them for use.

Those who gain this power can hunt mutated beasts and carve out a sliver of hope in the wasteland.

But the Gu path is cruel by nature, resources are scarce, and people are unpredictable.

Some use my power to struggle for survival; others drown in their desires and turn to dust amid schemes and slaughter.

What is hope?

Is it this hard-won power of the Gu path, or the human heart that refuses to be extinguished even in the darkest hour?

Could you read ten chapters before deciding whether to leave? 😭😭

This isn't a first-person Tomato story. I just threw this together without much thought.
