A World of Mountains and Seas: I Went on a Blind Date with a Nine-Tailed Fox

Seventeen people had vanished across the city. The last place each of them had been seen was the same matchmaking cafe.

Wang Xu was the eighteenth.

He wasn't missing. His mother had forced a blind-date address on him, threatening to cut off his allowance if he didn't go.

A woman in a red dress sat in the cafe, smiling at him. "Hello, I'm Tushan Ruxue."

The moment Wang Xu sat down, the cafe's door disappeared.

Blood-red rules appeared on the wall:

[Blind Date Rules]

Rule One: Do not ask the other person's true identity.

Rule Two: You must answer truthfully whatever the other person asks.

Rule Three: Once you finish this cup of coffee, you are a couple.

Rule Four: Couples share everything.

Rule Five: She knows all the rules above.

The others who had vanished had all finished that cup of coffee.

As Wang Xu looked at the woman before him, the Illustrated Bestiary of Bai Ze quietly unfolded in his mind:

[Tushan Ruxue, a nine-tailed fox with a thousand years of cultivation, feeds on men's vital essence.]

[Weakness: the base of her third tail.]

[Loophole in the rules: Rule Two says “answer truthfully,” but never says you can't ask a question in return.]

Wang Xu picked up his coffee and smiled faintly.

"Before I answer, may I ask you a question?"

"Why is your tail trembling?"
