Memoirs of a Solitary Monk in the South of the Mountains

In the autumn of 1965, a sudden blizzard swept across Tibet.

Five-year-old Luosang Jiayang became an orphan overnight.

The old monk Zaxi took him in and set out on foot with him for Lhasa, where he would enter the Buddhist faith.

They spent the night at a settlement for aid workers in Tibet.

There he met a quiet girl in a white shirt.

She told him her name was Jiang Man.

He silently repeated those two characters.

From that moment on, he could never forget them.
