I Had to Die Right After Falling in Love with You

[Yandere and unhinged × clear-headed and free | Intense push and pull | Mutual salvation | Future timeline | Fated love | Sweet and bittersweet | 1v1, both untouched]

Ten years from now, Pei Yanci will do everything he can to stop himself from falling in love with Wen Li.

Because he has seen it with his own eyes:

If they fall in love, Wen Li will die.

Three years ago, every piece of data from an accident proved that Wen Li couldn't have survived.

And yet she did.

Three years later, she meets Pei Yanci, the youngest person ever to take the reins of the Pei family.

At their first meeting, he stares at her for a long time.

“Wen Li, have we met before?”

She smiles. “Mr. Pei, that's a pretty old-fashioned pickup line.”

She has no idea that, in Pei Yanci's mind, his future self from ten years ahead is warning him:

[Stay away from her.]

[Don't touch her.]

[And above all, don't let her fall in love with you.]

But Pei Yanci has never believed in fate.

The future says she'll die in a car accident.

He buys the car, destroys the route, and erases every condition that was supposed to make it happen from reality, one by one.

He can even clear away every danger that threatens her.

Until Wen Li tells him, “Pei Yanci, I don't want a life you've arranged for me.”

For the first time, he learns to let go.

Yet even where she can't see him, he still memorizes every route that brings him closest to her.

Later, he asks his future self again:

“Will she still die?”

Much later, the answer comes back:

[...I don't know.]

At last, Pei Yanci smiles.

“So even the future can be wrong.”

One lost her for ten years and would rather never have loved her at all.

One stands before an ending that hasn't happened yet and insists on loving her.

One doesn't dare to take that gamble again.

The other insists on winning.
