Shen Yan returns to April 17, 2009, his first day assigned to the cultural relics site in Liuhe Town.
In his previous life, he caught the deputy director slipping artifacts into a bag, only to be framed in turn, kicked out of the county cultural relics office, and branded “the grave watcher” by everyone in the system. A few days later, an ancient Han tomb east of the village was looted clean. He pursued the case for seven years, but never recovered a single artifact before he died.
This time, nobody believes his report, so he’ll handle it himself.
The stolen tomb passages, storage sites, and routes used to move the goods are mapped in his mind. Transfer forms, registration ledgers, and the words “handed over to Jinyutang” erased with ink are all recorded in his sketchbook.
He once said: “Save the people first, then the artifacts.”
He will recover, one by one, everything taken from the earth.
Those who climbed to power over him back then, along with the network behind them, will all be sent to prison.
