The play tells the story of Hong Sanyuan, his mother and friend Qi Lin, who went to Shanghai to join Yanhua and were involved in the power struggle between two major companies. Hong Sanyuan relied on his wit to save the day on the dangerous Shanghai beach. He became sworn brother with the loyal man Shen Da. Finally, he realized the true meaning of Great Expectations and embarked on the road of revolution.
