[Middle-aged comeback + animal abilities + criminal investigations + devoted husband and dad]
Zhang Xiaonian is the most unremarkable officer in the Jiangbei Criminal Investigation Squad.
After seven years on the job, his colleagues from the same intake have become deputy squad leaders, while he’s still taking statements for a two-thousand-yuan electric bike theft. His father-in-law looks down on him, and his colleagues gossip behind his back.
Then he pets a stray dog.
His sense of smell awakens: he can distinguish perfume from five hundred meters away, and he follows the scent of battery acid to take down a vehicle-theft ring.
Then he pets a tabby cat and gains reflexes beyond the human limit. Every time he solves a case, he can copy one ability from an animal!
“Brother Zhang, your nose is even better than a police dog’s!”
“Old Zhang, how did you train those moves?”
Zhang Xiaonian just smiles. Never look down on a poor middle-aged man. He’s about to make his comeback!
