Lin Xuan transmigrated.
He transmigrated to Mineral Town and inherited a run-down ranch left behind by his grandfather, who had been missing for ten years.
The roof leaked, weeds grew waist-high, the fences leaned crookedly, and the well was clogged shut.
The ranch's only "living thing" was a little Grass-type Pokémon his grandfather had left behind: Meowth.
The prickly little thing had "Stay away from me" written all over its face. It even caught its own fish for meals, and looked at Lin Xuan as if he were a creditor who owed it three million.
"Well, what's done is done. I might as well make the best of it."
Lin Xuan rolled up his sleeves and started cleaning up the mess.
He planted radishes, fixed the fences, cleared the well, and learned to cook.
When he watered the crops, Meowth complained he was clumsy. When they ate, Meowth complained the food was awful. When they went to sleep... Meowth secretly slipped under his covers.
The prickly but softhearted Pokémon was easier to win over than he'd expected.
Even more ridiculously, the old Pokémon encyclopedia his grandfather left behind contained an ancient System called the "Pokémon Spring."
Offer up seasonal crops, ores, fish, and more to unlock Pokémon Mega Evolution, open the gates to hidden realms, and even awaken Mineral Town's guardian Pokémon.
And when you farm well, your crops shimmer with a silver glow: Silver Star Radishes, Gold Star Sweet Potatoes, and the legendary top-grade Rainbow Fruit that even Pokémon fight over.
And so Lin Xuan's ranch life began in a flurry of activity.
At the spring planting festival, the mayor held him captive in conversation for an hour. At the summer fireworks festival, Popuri confessed her feelings to him outright, leaving him utterly bewildered. At the autumn harvest festival, he took third place in the cooking contest. And at the winter Starry Night Festival, seven dwarfs showed up as a group to mooch off his food...
