“If you fall for me along the way, or give me a son, maybe your debt to the Shen family will be wiped out.”
Xining said furiously, “Dream on! How could I ever fall for you?”
Shen Jiangbei sneered. “Don’t be so sure. Let’s see who can outlast the other.”
“Shen Jiangbei, have you fallen for me?” Lin Xining looked at him gleefully.
Shen Jiangbei laughed. “Lin Xining, where do you get that confidence? If Grandpa hadn’t forced me, why would I marry you? There’s a line of people waiting for me to marry them.”
“Make up your mind. Are you paying off your debt, or are you going to be my obedient wife?”
Lin Xining lowered her head and thought for a moment. “I’ll pay off the debt.”
Shen Jiangbei glanced at her. “Fine. My patience is limited, so you don’t have long. You’ll repay the principal and interest in full. If you can’t pay by the deadline, don’t blame me for what happens.”
