On a snowy night in 1988, right-wing doctor Lu Tianye cut open the belly of a shot ewe with his bare hands and rescued three cubs. From then on, fragments of images of animals dying continued to flood into his mind - a snow leopard took a blue sheep in its mouth as a medical fee, a black-necked crane crashed into a window to warn of a blizzard, a golden eagle flapped its wings to extinguish a searchlight... He was "laid" by all the living creatures on the plateau.
A useless doctor, a group of animals, and a desperate mountain patrol team tracked a poaching group in the no-man's land of Hoh Xil. Animals are his intelligence agents, comrades and non-staff members. In front of a mountain of bones piled up by thousands of Tibetan antelopes, he coughed up blood and traced his seven-year migration memories. The mountain patrol captain died, leaning on the jeep to maintain a vigilant posture.
He said animals are not tools, but friends. Later, satellite monitoring discovered that Tibetan antelopes would stay at the same place for one day every year during their migration, which was the former site of his health center. Scientists call it "the satellite of the Tibetan antelope". Only he knows that it is not a satellite, but a repayment of gratitude.
