Li Lingfeng, a modern Chinese medicine doctor, accidentally fell off a cliff and traveled through the Qi Dynasty to collect medicine for his seriously ill girlfriend. He became the companion of the fifth prince inexplicably. Later, he was recommended by the imperial concubine to join the embroidery department. He was given a sword to kill corrupt officials, behead traitors, and others. He has been making firearms and becoming a bandit all the way up; but because the sixth princess has the same face as his girlfriend, he falls into a cycle of deceitful plots and love affairs; it is not until the end that he discovers that everything was doomed from the beginning.
