Sang Wuyan falls in love at first sight with Su Nianqin (played by Lin Yanjun), whom she meets by chance. Only later does she discover that he is a cold, aloof man with a visual impairment. Like peeling an onion, Sang Wuyan strips away Su Nianqin's proud, distant exterior, and the two fall in love. They struggle between the hard-won happiness they have found and the fear of losing it, but eventually break up under the pressure of reality and misunderstandings.
