[Period] [Son-in-law] [Supporting the Family] [Scrap Recycling] [Stepfather]
Li Weichuan transmigrates into the body of an impoverished live-in son-in-law. Just after getting fired from the scrap yard, he is cornered in the courtyard by Jia Zhangshi, who orders him to leave.
He has barely enough money in his pocket for a few steamed cornbread buns, while Qin Huairu and three children are waiting at home for a meal.
Rather than argue, he first follows a scrap-yard worker through the alleys, using his knack for valuing scrap metal to earn enough for food.
Then he lands a job at the steel mill.
Everyone in the courtyard expects him to leave, but his first priority is making sure the children have enough to eat at every meal.
“I’m not leaving this family.”
