An old ship has had every plank replaced. Is it still the same ship?
Suppose you then use the old planks to build another ship. Which one is the real one?
Xu Zhou is just a broke delivery rider who wouldn't dare risk losing even his 1,200-yuan perfect-attendance bonus.
A food delivery order worth 6.8 yuan sends him to a construction barrier.
Delivery address: 44 Yong'an Road.
But Yong'an Road doesn't exist on the map.
Behind the barrier live 216 households, 731 people in all.
And stranger still:
The recipient is standing right in front of Xu Zhou, yet the order still says the distance is 216 meters.
Only after Xu Zhou follows the order he can never complete does he discover that the streets erased from reality aren't the only things missing from this city.
A B2 that doesn't exist in the System.
A ninth floor missing from the elevator buttons.
A building demolished three years ago that still receives deliveries as usual.
A living person standing right in front of you may one day find their ID, access card, work records, and even the memories of friends and family no longer acknowledge that they exist.
And all Xu Zhou can do is what he's always been best at:
Find the way, and deliver the package.
Only later does he understand.
Sometimes, what needs delivering isn't a meal.
It's a person erased from reality.
