[Two male leads + cultivation and farming + comedic business management + bankrupt startup + mutual salvation + slow burn + ensemble cast + devoted HE]
[Main CP: sharp-tongued, bankrupt spirit farmer × cold-faced, fiercely protective sword cultivator | Side CP: adventurous, sunny alchemist × poker-faced, abacus-minded formation cultivator]
The spiritual energy of the cultivation world is running dry. The major sects are busy fighting over resources, competing for secret realms, and scrambling to ascend.
Only Little Green Peak, buried under a debt of two thousand high-grade spirit stones, is still earnestly researching how to make radishes shut up.
After Xie Songshi is found to have a low-grade wood spiritual root, he is sent to Little Green Peak to farm.
On his first day there, he gets four mu of wasteland, half a ruined mountain gate, and a gravely injured sword cultivator whom Sword Peak had tossed aside as a cripple.
Gu Huaijun refuses to stay for free, so Xie Songshi shoves a hoe into his hands. “No money? Then work it off as rent.”
From then on, Xie Songshi comes up with bad ideas, while Gu Huaijun hands him a sword and cleans up the mess. They’re joined by an alchemist who always believes the next batch of explosive pills will work, and a formation cultivator who keeps accounts down to the last low-grade spirit stone.
Together, the four grow radishes that curse, spirit scallions that hit where it hurts, healing pills that make you unable to lie after taking them, and watermelons that chase thieves around and then accuse them of bumping into them.
At first, all they want is to pay off their debts and save their mountain. But they gradually discover that Little Green Peak isn’t the only thing sick: all the spirit fields in the world are failing.
When high-ranking cultivators prepare to drain the last of the world’s spiritual energy and let a select few ascend, four people whom the sects have deemed useless decide to stay behind and save the world.
Gu Huaijun is willing to help Xie Songshi save the world, but he absolutely refuses to let Xie Songshi erase himself from their future together.
