On the last day of his internship, Lin Mo gets a call from his great-uncle: Grandpa is gone.
Grandpa was the last paper effigy maker in the village. Before he died, he left an unfinished message: "The paper figure isn't finished. Don't come back to the village."
Lin Mo rushes back to Liuxi Village that night. In the main hall stands half of an unfinished paper figure, without eyes. The villagers all avoid him, and no one dares mention Grandpa. An old friend of his grandfather only says half a sentence: Someone owed him, and someone was afraid of him.
That night, the main hall door opens by itself, and footsteps walk around inside until dawn. At daybreak, he hears a voice, like wind blowing across paper, calling his name.
The paper figure isn't finished. Don't come back to the village.
What exactly is Grandpa waiting for? And who was that eyeless paper figure made for?
