Devour and Evolve: Starting as a Mosquito Larva

A tiny mosquito larva drifted in the murky waters of a stagnant pond.

It had no claws, no armor. Its only path to survival was to devour.

Microorganisms, decaying matter, every morsel of nourishment within reach: it devoured them all, evolving step by step in the endless darkness.

As it continued to evolve, its field of vision rose with it. High above the firmament, a colossal shadow with only two icy eyes visible gazed silently down upon these waters.

Did the road ahead lead through an endless food chain, or toward a destiny among dragons?

Starting as the lowliest of larvae, it would make devouring its path and climb back up to the pinnacle of all races.
