Rising from a Warlord, I Tread on Thin Ice All My Life

In the twenty-fourth year of the Dongsheng calendar, the defenders are forced to retreat south. Chahar is in danger of falling, and thousands of li of national territory lie open to invaders.

After a passing System smashes Chen Sheng to pieces, it dumps him into this age of warring warlords. He arrives with a universal factory, two robot bodyguards, and a head full of the fear that his firepower might not be enough.

Other warlords can’t pay their troops. He has silver dollars to spare. Other soldiers fire one shot at a time, working the bolt. His men are all equipped with semiautomatic rifles, spraying bullets like water.

His brothers call him Commander Chen. He says he has spent his whole life walking on thin ice.

From an isolated force in Chahar to an army a million strong, Chen Sheng has only one thing to say:

What thin ice? I’ve been speeding across it the whole way.
