Shen Jia is a 35-year-old single woman with no children. Her company wants to fire her without paying compensation, while her boyfriend of seven years has just passed the civil service exam, fallen for someone else, and broken up with her.
Luckily, the gods look favorably upon her, and she becomes the master of a special resource space belonging to the "Human Marriage and Childbirth" task force, jointly run by the God of Marriage and the Goddess of Children. It's filled with discarded red threads of fate and dolls that bring children.
And so, a new street vendor appears in the big city.

Think she's only moonlighting as an envoy of the God of Marriage, helping people find their destined partners? Wrong. She also moonlights as an envoy of the Goddess of Children, helping people have children.
Couples who've been unable to conceive for years come to her! Square-dancing uncles who want sons come to her! Mothers hoping for the return of children who died young come to her! Couples who don't want children and fear being left without anyone to care for them come to her!
As her reputation and status rise, she draws the envy and dirty tricks of many competitors, but Shen Jia manages to dodge them all by sheer luck.
Then the unrequited love of her college years appears. Shen Jia initially thinks he's become a domineering CEO and is helping her out of love, but it turns out to be a scheme disguised as romance.
Only then does she realize everything was already fated, just as the gods warned: the more a mortal comes into contact with divine objects and meddles in human affairs, marriages, and children, the more it will wear them down, making a good match impossible!
Shen Jia ultimately decides to remain single, leave the glittering world behind, and return to the ordinary streets. She devotes herself to charity for women and children and does her part to raise the national marriage and birth rates.
