Su Shan x Qi Sheng
A wicked, selfish, foolish beauty forced to live under another's roof x an obsessive, possessive, gloomy, sickly master of evil spirits

Misread one character, and a benevolent god became an evil ghost, taking him along with it.
In outsiders' eyes, Su Shan was an adopted son of the Fang family, living under someone else's roof. He had a clean-cut, delicate face and a meek, timid nature, so anyone could bully and manipulate him as they pleased.
No one could tell that beneath that soft, harmless exterior lay all sorts of petty schemes devised simply to stay alive.
He had once lived a lonely life in a remote mountain village, constantly tormented and bullied by others. With nowhere else to turn, young Su Shan learned to seek help from the gods.
Everyone in the village worshiped the honored deity Qi Sheng. The character Qi meant good fortune and peace, and the deity protected the people. But the inscription on the stele was blurred, and in his innocence, Su Shan mistook one character and sincerely prayed to the homophonous honored deity Qi Sheng.
Qi symbolized endless sorrow and calamity. One character's difference, and a god became an evil ghost.
That year, the little boy made a pact to stay together for all eternity, asking only for a little protection and security in return.
Who could have known that the day the Fang family found him, a high fever would strike, and he would forget every memory of the evil ghost and every promise he'd made to it.
During a class camping trip, everyone wandered into an ancient castle deep in the mountains, and Su Shan was pushed forward as the castle's new bride.
Fine. As long as I stay alive.
But entering the castle meant entering a countdown to death.
As one classmate after another died, Su Shan didn't want to die, so he turned his attention to the gentlemanly steward who was reading out the rules.
Only after escaping the castle by following the route the steward gave him, then getting caught, did Su Shan, who had been secretly congratulating himself on his clever tactics just moments before, realize he'd seduced the wrong man.
