In the Name of the People: Defying Heaven and Winning by Half a Move, Starting with Refusing to Kneel

After staying up all night to watch In the Name of the People for the third time, he wakes up as Qi Tongwei in 1993.

He has survived the three bullets at Lone Eagle Ridge. His first-class merit is being suppressed, and Liang Lu’s fruit basket sits by his bed. In a few days, according to the original plot, he will kneel in front of everyone on Handa University’s field, kneeling his way to a career while breaking his own backbone. Twenty-three years later, he will press a gun to his chin.

Having seen the whole series, he says, “I’m not taking this script.”

In the auditorium, in front of eight hundred people, the provincial TV station’s camera is recording, its red light on. The Liang family hands him flowers and pressures him to marry.

He hands the flowers back and makes a vow before everyone: “As long as the poison remains, I will never marry.”

In this life, he guards Lone Eagle Ridge, fishes out the mole, cuts off the southern route, and keeps the books for twenty years.

He saves the Gao sisters from the fishing village and watches them build the Qinfeng Empire. He heads south to Jinghai and gives a hand to Gao Qiqiang, who is still selling fish.

He protects his teacher, Gao Yuliang.
