She Pretended to Give a Presentation, and the Brooding Cadre Became Addicted

Lin Chutao, a pampered girl in a cultural troupe, comes to her senses and discovers she is the spoiled villainess in a period novel. After clinging relentlessly to a powerful young man from the military compound, she is supposed to have her engagement broken off and be sent to the Northwest to shovel manure.

Terrified, she decides to turn over a new leaf! To get sent down, she hands over her pretty dresses, forces down coarse grain until she burps, and goes around looking for “honest men” to date.

Then one day, all her blind dates are sent to the border for military training.

The military compound’s famously stern, celibate commander, Jiang Lijun, corners her in a secluded spot in the cultural troupe’s rehearsal room.

“Big Brother, Wei Dong and I have already broken off our engagement…I won’t cause trouble anymore,” she stammers, her legs weak with fear.

The man undoes his tightly fastened uniform collar. His broad palm, rough with calluses from handling guns, clamps around her slender waist, while suppressed desire and madness churn in his eyes. “Good. You did the right thing.”

He pulls out a small-sized men’s back support belt. “Since you want to turn over a new leaf, starting tonight, come to my room every evening to give me a report on your progress. And while you’re at it, help me put on my belt.”
