From the Start, All I Had Was a Helmet, Then the Beautiful Empress Threw Herself into My Arms

[Mystery] [System] [Mild Horror]

Lu Han spent eighty yuan at a night market on a secondhand full-dive headset. He was hoping to enjoy the carefree life of a tavern keeper and flirt with female ghosts in Yin-Yang Inn.

But the headset was a bootleg.

Bootleg effect one: Every living person you meet automatically has their affinity for you reduced to a negative score. A girl smiles at you: affinity -1, -1, -1. You save a beauty in distress: affinity -10, -10, -10.

Bootleg effect two: Every ghost and evil spirit you meet automatically has their ghostly affinity for you maxed out. A headless baby clings to you and calls you Dad, a red-clad empress blocks the door and calls you husband, and even fiends from the Eighteenth Level of Hell line up to swear brotherhood with you.

Bootleg effect three: Quit the game? Not an option.

Suicide? The System says, "Detected a player trying to freeload. Suicide function locked."

Lu Han: "...Whoever wants to play this trash game can have it."

The hundred ghosts outside the door cry out together: "Our husband, let us play with you!"

He thought it was just a management game, until he discovered the world was real. He thought he was just a tavern keeper, until he discovered he was the gatekeeper. He thought his opponents were just the Blackwater Gang and rogue cultivators, until five old gods awoke behind the door.

The old gods awaken, yin and yang teeter on the brink, and countless worlds are thrown into turmoil.

Lu Han grips his peachwood sword and looks at the crowd of ghosts, demons, and gods behind him. He sighs. "All right. I'll guard this gate."

Yin-Yang Inn welcomes all who enter. Humans, ghosts, demons, and gods: all are treated equally.
