Bones Never Forget

The Gray Tide has come. It doesn’t kill people; it erases them.

No one remembers you ever existed. Your name disappears from the family tree, your house turns to ruins, and even your mother forgets she gave birth to you.

Zhong Jiuli crawls out of the Gray Tide to find his entire village erased. His father is holding the door shut from the outside. Only Zhong Jiuli and his six-year-old sister remain.

He finds a gray finger bone.

Gray Envoys trade memories for power. Each time they use the gray, they forget a piece of their past. He doesn’t forget.

Others forget who they are after using the gray three times. Even after a hundred uses, he remains clear-headed.

In this world, being forgotten is more terrifying than death. And he is the only one who remembers everything.
