When Gu He'an was three years old, he moved into the family home with his mother, and was given to Su Wan, who was just six years old across the street, as a follower. He held onto the corner of his mother's clothes and hid behind Su Wan, watching the older children in the yard snatching the strawberry-flavored lollipops from Su Wan's hands. Six-year-old Gu He'an had just entered elementary school. He followed Su Wan carrying his schoolbag to the classroom every day. During class breaks, he would always squat on the steps in front of Su Wan's class, holding half a hard candy in his hand, waiting for her to come out and tell him a short story told by the teacher in class. At the age of twelve, Gu He'an was promoted to junior high school, and Su Wan happened to go to high school in a neighboring city. Throughout his youth, he grew from a little baby with pigtails to a tall and upright boy, from a timid little kid who hid behind his sister to an adult who could protect her from the wind and rain.
