Li Xian transmigrates into the body of a little beggar in Qinghe Town.
The good news: he awakens a golden finger. The words “Please, stop a moment” make whoever hears them drop the thing that matters most to them at that moment.
Spirit stones, cultivation, techniques, memories, even spiritual roots: he can steal them all.
The bad news: this world has “the Uncanny,” an indescribable corruption of cause and effect. Black fog, black threads, shadows: be touched by them and you go mad; encounter them and you die.
He's a mortal without spiritual roots, unable to cultivate normally, so he can only steal cultivation and techniques to force his way upward.
Worse still, after stealing his way from Qinghe Town to Yunzhong Commandery, he finds Old Zhang, devoured by the Uncanny, following him and muttering over and over, “I'll take you back.”
He manages to deal with that, only to run into a warning that a purple Uncanny is invading. It's the kind of entity that can wipe out an entire city.
Then a Golden Core cultivator pins him face-down in a crack between paving stones in the middle of the street, smashing his head against the ground.
But Li Xian has no choice.
Uncanny energy can be used as a resource, and his golden finger can serve as a stepping stone.
He plans to keep stealing and running, using the cultivation he steals to build himself a way to survive.
As for whether the purple Uncanny will descend upon Yunzhong Commandery in three months?
That's not his problem.
His problem is this: how many more times does he have to say “Please, stop a moment” before he can live forever?
It's a novel that's a bit dark and dark. I'm currently a little bit of a noob. The story is good, but the main character is a bit of a villain and a bit of a junior high school student.
