Ensemble cast + passionate battles + patriotism
After the spiritual qi revival, mutated beasts cross the Great Wall. Beyond it lies an endless wasteland; within it, the battlefield belongs to the young. Lu Chen has a blood-and-qi score of sixty-seven and has yet to become a martial artist, while his father was a gatekeeper hero who died beneath the walls of Baidi Pass. During a beast tide, he hears the mountains and rivers rumble within the crumbling city wall and awakens an ability no one knows about: Resonance with Mountains and Rivers. It cannot let him punch a mountain to pieces, but it can let him hear the wounds in the walls and see his enemies’ weaknesses. It also brings him step by step closer to the truth buried ten years ago. At his side are Ning Zhao, who wields her spear like fire and never retreats; Zhou Ye, who bears a shield and stands in front of everyone; Bai Shu, sharp-tongued and quick-handed, with mechanisms all over him; and Su Wan, who can pull the wounded back from death’s door. They set out from Baihe City and enter the Northern Frontier Martial Academy, facing mutated beasts, traitors, and the Heavenward Society, as well as a gate buried beneath the mountains and rivers of Great Xia. Some die defending the city; others return with secrets. The boys will one day become martial artists, but first they must learn one thing: when the lights of ten thousand homes are behind you, even if you stand alone, you must hold the gate. This is their passion, and the undying echo of the mountains and rivers.
It looks good [laughs][laughs][laughs][laughs]
