Third-person narration, no romance, ensemble cast
I’ve known since I was little that I was a cannon-fodder supporting female character in a novel, the kind who dies an especially undignified death.
So I’ve always worked hard, pushing myself to the limit every day in hopes of changing my fate.
When I learned I was the only dual-ability user in the world, I still felt I needed more practice.
Before school started, I found out my abilities were one rank below those of the gifted prodigies my age. I only blamed myself for not working hard enough, then trained until I caught up to their level.
Even though I came in first every time, I still demanded that I remain humble and mild-mannered.
The System had told me that cannon fodder who got too cocky tended to get killed off.
Even if I secretly thought I was absolutely amazing.
Huh? Why are they looking at me like that?

This is my first time writing (^O^), so I welcome any advice *^_^*
