I'm Lin Qi, a transmigrator, a half-elf, and a D-rank adventurer.
I live in an old house in North Alley, Oakwood Town, with a rent of three silver coins a month. All my worldly possessions: a half-elf arming sword, a patched-up set of leather armor, and half a swordsmanship notebook with pages missing.
But my most valuable possession is my kitchen.
That's right, the kitchen of a single half-elf swordsman.
It's stocked with pots, bowls, and pans. The spice jars stand in neat rows, and the stove is so clean you could use it as a mirror.
Turuk calls me "an oddball among adventurers." Back in my previous life, the only way Lin Qi could unwind after working overtime was by studying recipes.
So my daily routine became sword practice, taking on jobs, cooking, and sitting outside the tavern with Turuk to share the same piece of stewed meat.
Life drifted by like rich soup bubbling gently in a pot, unhurried, its aroma spreading on its own.
Then one day, while Lin Qi was turning in a job at the guild, an elf girl in a mage's robe turned from the notice board and twitched her nose.
"You smell of rosemary and roasted garlic," she said.
Lin Qi: "...I made a pot of meat stew for lunch."
Her eyes lit up. "Can you make white broth with stewed pheasant?"
Only later did Lin Qi learn why she had invited him to join her party. The guild registration book listed his occupation as: Half-Elf Swordsman. Notes: Excellent cook.
It's okay, but it's quite bland. Please support it.
