Pan Dachui, a communications trunk line survey and design engineer, appears to be an ordinary trunk line guy in the design institute. He travels through barren mountains, wild ridges, old towns and signal blind spots all year round. His job is very ordinary: looking at routes, comparing pole positions, and measuring optical cables. But he also has another unknown identity - Lao Huo's apprentice. Lao Huo is an outlier in the communications industry. He understands both optical cables and Feng Shui. He has dealt with "things that go on the line" all his life, and eventually got lost on an invisible line.
