"Good morning."
This is always the first thing Lao Zhou says when he opens the bird room door every day. The four parrots responded - they have been doing this every day for many years, and the whole day started with this sound.
Until one day, the door didn't open again. The lights were still on, the faucet was dripping, and the food in the bird feeder was getting lighter day by day - the house was still the same as when Lao Zhou was around, but Lao Zhou was gone.
It was another person who came. With the smell of Lao Zhou on his body, he rummaged around and tidied up the house. The longer he stayed, the look in his eyes at the four birds became more and more wrong every day.
They couldn't tell what was going on. But they decided to check it out themselves.
A yellow-crowned Amazon can learn everything Lao Zhou said word for word - it is responsible for recording; a monk parrot, which breaks the world into numbers and patterns - it is responsible for filing; a golden sun, whose eyes are glued to that person for a moment - it is responsible for keeping track; and a black phoenix, which silently remembers the original location of everything in the room - it is responsible for the scene.
This is the worst task force in this room: they can't reach the door handle, they can't open the drawers, they can't even call the police, and no one takes what they say seriously.
But that man didn't take them seriously at all - in his opinion, they were just a few noisy birds.
But in this room, they were the only ones left trying to figure out what happened to Lao Zhou.
Lao Zhou hasn't come back yet. The person who shouldn't be there has no plans to leave.
