The Dao Venerable Throws in the Towel

Lu Wuming, a death-row inmate, awakens the mysterious Dao De Jing before his execution. His soul transmigrates into the body of the famously good-for-nothing young heir of the Duke Who Guards the Nation’s household in a cultivation world. A pampered body, a useless spiritual root, enemies on every side? He fires back with, “The Dao that can be spoken is not the eternal Dao.” No one knows that every line of the five thousand words in his head is a cheat code for rewriting the laws of Heaven.

The leader of the righteous sects says he’s all talk about virtue but rotten to the core, while a demonic temptress laughs that he seems carefree on the outside but is cunning within. Meanwhile, Lu Wuming uses the Dao De Jing to trick his clan’s patriarch into backing him, and applies the tactics of a heartless playboy from his past life to charm the cultivation world’s fairies, demonesses, and empresses. Sweet-tongued but ruthless, he says whatever suits his audience, turning the entire cultivation world into his personal battlefield of romance. Until one day, the lofty First Immortal Venerable corners him against a wall and asks coldly, “Have you ever used even a fraction of your skill at deceiving the world on me?” Lu Wuming blinks. “Venerable, the Dao follows nature. My feelings for you are completely sincere.”
