The righteous see demons as evil, while the Demonic Realm hunts humans as prey. The Forgotten River frontier is an endless battlefield between the two worlds.
Lu Chen, a menial disciple of the Qingfeng Sect, carries the burden of a bloody past. His inferior sword bones earn him the scorn of the entire sect, and only a rusted iron sword keeps him company.
The sect's dogma commands him to slay every demon. But he has seen demon elders and children just trying to survive in peace, and righteous geniuses who slaughter the innocent without a second thought.
The world is obsessed with the divide between good and evil. He alone keeps his heart true to his sword, refusing to compromise with the righteous or join the demons.
Su Qingyi, the Sword Sect's saintess, is admired by countless young talents and looks upon them all with cool indifference. Yet she falls for this menial sword cultivator, shunned by the entire world.
The miles ahead bring one challenge after another: secret-realm battles, war between the two worlds, and a grand contest of swords beneath the heavens.
With the most basic thirteen sword techniques, Lu Chen forges the supreme sword path, cleaves through a thousand years of prejudice with one strike, and protects the peace of countless families along the border.
