I Found a Little Cutie, and Now I’m Blessed

From the start, do you get just a bowl and have to scavenge all your gear? Not Nuonuo. Her beginning is: “The whole family’s lives hang by a thread, and their blessings are left to fate.”

On the third day after her own grandmother threw her into a mass grave, A Nuo was found and brought home by the Li family. From then on, the Li household’s fortunes took a dramatic turn:

Short on grain? Half a sack of coarse rice appears right outside the door!

Need milk? A gentle wild goat hops the fence and comes in to nurse her!

Craving meat? Wild hens line up to lay eggs, and edible wild plants are everywhere!

A Nuo: “I’m just a baby who wants a full meal. How did I become the whole village’s hope?”

Her birth parents come to take her away? Big brother: “Get lost!” Second brother: “My fists are itching!” The whole village: “A Nuo belongs to our Daqing Village. Just try laying a hand on her!”

Facing malicious competition from other merchants, A Nuo turns around and leads everyone to a secret grove of mushrooms, then teaches the whole village to form a trade guild for local mountain produce and monopolize the market.

From abandoned baby to everyone’s darling, from poor farmer to richest woman in the land, A Nuo says, “As long as I’m good, good fortune will come.” And as for those who want to hurt me? Sorry, I’m so lucky even the mountain god is on my side!
