I Transmigrate to Become a Female Tutor, but the Cold Marquess Insists on Marrying Me

When Lin Zhaozhao, a Chinese teacher at a teacher-training university, wakes up, she finds herself lying in a jolting oxcart. She has become the impoverished daughter of a disgraced scholar in the Great Jin dynasty, dumped by her fiancé and cast out by her family. She has no money, is freezing and starving, and can’t even afford the fare home. With no other choice, she answers a notice posted at the city gate: “Generous salary offered for a tutor of young children.”

The notice was posted by the Marquis of Jing'an, Huo Yan: a battlefield demon, the scourge of the capital, and a hot-tempered general whom every court official avoids. His late wife left him three children, from the oldest at nine to the youngest at four. They’re all as wild as monkeys and have already driven away seventeen tutors. Lin Zhaozhao isn’t afraid. In her previous life, she was the head of an elementary school Chinese teaching and research group, and she knows how to handle every kind of mischievous kid. She slaps her pointer down on the desk. “Starting today, I’m your tutor. No dozing off in class, and no bullying others after class. Anyone who breaks the rules will copy the Thousand Character Classic twenty times.” The three little rascals exchange glances.

Six months later, all of the capital is talking: the three lawless little devils of the Marquis of Jing'an’s household can actually recite poems now. Even more astonishing, the cold-faced marquis, who never used to set foot in the rear courtyard, has lately been sitting outside the classroom every day with a teacup, listening in.
