This is a story about order and rebellion.
Li Hao, an “immortal” who has lived for billions of years, accumulates supreme cultivation and memories through one reincarnation after another. In this life, he should have fallen asleep again, awakening ten thousand years later. Instead, he discovers that a power far beyond the mortal world has forcibly interrupted his reincarnation, mysteriously fixing his lifespan at a mere ten thousand years.
To uncover the truth, Li Hao walks the world under an utterly ordinary identity. He meets four extraordinary women: Jinyao, the Holy Maiden of the Qingyun Sect; Luo Chuan, the leader of the Luoying Sect; Liyue, a princess of the demon clan; and Mu Bai, a peerless swordswoman. Each is trapped in a predicament: a struggle for power, a sect in crisis, hatred between races, or a clouded sword heart. Li Hao steps in to help, piercing through layer upon layer of deception as he searches for the hidden hand interfering with fate.
As his investigation deepens, an organization called the “Divine Court” comes to light. Its members claim to be agents of Heaven's will, maintaining order in the world and controlling the fate of all living beings. Li Hao's immortality is the greatest flaw in this “order,” and must be “corrected.”
Li Hao joins forces with the four women at his side to challenge the entire “Heavenly Order.” In the end, he tears away the Divine Court's false-divinity, exposing the truth: they covet immortality and enslave all living beings. He takes their place as the new master of the laws. Yet when he stands atop the world and looks out, he sees an even vaster sea of stars. The “world” he has protected is merely a speck of dust in the boundless universe. A grander, more mysterious world is opening its doors to him...
