Fu Xiaoyun devotes herself to pursuing a place on the stage of the arts entrance exam, carrying regrets that keep her awake. Used to walking alone, she is bold enough to take a chance, resilient, and determined. She has never known true friendship, and there is a carefree, independent spirit about her.
Ma Xiyao admires Fu Xiaoyun and has always wanted to be her friend, but in the end she is left hurt and ignored. She dreams of fashion design, but no one understands her.
... (The other two kids are omitted. It's not because the author is lazy. Remember, they're high schoolers.)
Four kids, four families, four different destinies.
All four are studying abroad in New York City, two are adults and two are minors.
Youth is about more than exams and ink. It is also about young people passionately chasing their dreams, and the regrets the generation before them cannot put into words.
I think this book is very well written, covering urban campuses, family life, the past grudges and secrets of the previous generation decades ago, different family backgrounds, children's growth and dream pursuit, and maybe some Chinese-style horror in the middle. It will not be the same, and it is super good-looking😊
