A Divorce Lawyer Transmigrates into a Matchmaker in Bianjing

[Fictional ancient city life + hilarious matchmaking + melodramatic marriages + the whole family gets rich] In her previous life, Xu Zhiwan spent ten years as a divorce lawyer. She’d seen countless couples turn against each other and divide up their property. Then, overnight, she became the daughter of a matchmaker in southern Bianjing. The Xu family runs an officially licensed matchmaking business, relying on arranging marriages to make a living. But eight out of every ten matches they arrange end badly, and the family barely gets by. Her father is diligent about making visits and inquiries, her mother is skilled at sewing and preparing dowries, her older brother keeps the records, and her younger brother is sweet-tongued and good at passing messages. As for Xu Zhiwan, she puts her past-life talent for breaking up marriages to the opposite use. From judging a person’s character and appearance to calculating whether their birth charts match, from investigating both families’ backgrounds to negotiating betrothals and dowries; From bringing together young couples in the neighborhood to taking matchmaking orders from powerful noble families; From working alone to turning the Xu family’s matchmaking business into Bianjing’s most prominent matchmaker’s shop. One marriage after another is successfully arranged, and one string of cash after another comes in as betrothal gifts. At last, the Xu family makes a name for itself in Bianjing’s matchmaking trade.
