In 2035, the Great Depression occurred.
First the bank. The central bank announced the liquidation in one afternoon, and the deposit figures in black and white turned into waste paper overnight. Then there are factories, ports, and the entire supply chain - falling one after another like dominoes.
On the day the government's credit went bankrupt, the city burned for three days and three nights.
Some people burned IOUs, some burned account books, and some burned an entire city block. On those nights when the flames were blazing into the sky, there were no police, no firefighting, and no laws. Because the law is dead - it was not overturned, it starved itself to death. When no one believes that the court will give a fair decision, the court is just an empty building with no one entering.
At the end of the chaos, nine people sat down at a table.
They are the nine largest chaebols in Tianze City: Zhengyang, Dingfeng, Chu family, Chixiao, Qingyun, Hengchang, Bailu, Lingxiao, and Wanjin. Behind them are factories, ports, troops, fighters, and more than half of the lifeblood of this city.
They signed a treaty - the "New Kunlun Convention".
The convention is long and contains many clauses, but at its core there is only one sentence:
"All disputes in this city will be adjudicated in the arbitration arena. If you are dissatisfied, force will prevail."
From then on, there was no court in Tianshou City.
