Qingyue was once the Great Qian dynasty's most beloved princess. To escape a political marriage, she disguises herself as a displaced criminal and is forcibly assigned by the authorities to a poor hunter.
She thinks she'll spend the rest of her life in hardship overseas, but then discovers there's something strange about her husband!
In the first year, her husband comes up with something called a 'steam engine,' turning a deserted island into an iron fortress.
In the second year, he builds a 'Gatling gun' and turns the pirates terrorizing the seas into a hive of bees.
In the third year, he founds the Great Xia Empire, builds invincible ironclad warships, and rules the world!
Just as Xiao Qingyue thinks she can finally settle down and be a good wife and mother, an urgent report arrives from the Great Qian capital: the barbarians have breached the pass, and Great Qian is on the verge of falling!
She's agonizing over whether to reveal her identity to her husband and ask him to send troops to save her homeland.
Then she sees her husband's eldest son riding a mechanical war tiger and leading a million troops across the ocean. 'Mother, I heard Grandpa's being bullied! I'll go blast them to smithereens right now!'
