The day Heaven recruited Chen Mo as a coach, he learned he had only one year left to live.
The seal on the qilin blood inside him was cracking. Every millimeter it split brought him one step closer to death.
His only way out: lead a team of ancient demons in soccer, win the World Cup, wipe away their sins, and return to Heaven.
The lineup: the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, the Golden-Winged Roc, the gambling addict from Tongtian River, the Nine-Headed Worm...
In his previous life, during the battle that brought down the gods, Chen Mo was the Starsea Federation's greatest mecha pilot and an ace secret agent.
He put an electric shock headband on Sun Wukong, stuck a chokehold patch on the Golden-Winged Roc, and strapped a lie detector bracelet onto the Great King of Inspiration.
“From today on, you can hate me all you want. But if you lose a match, I’ll make you suffer worse than death.”
He soon realized he wasn’t the coach. He was a piece on the board.
Two factions in the celestial realm were fighting over the qilin blood inside him. The cultivation faction wanted to uphold the Heavenly Dao; the mecha faction wanted to reshape the world.
They had planted their pieces everywhere in the mortal realm.
Chen Mo grinned. “If Heaven wants to use me as a chess piece, then I’ll kick your whole game right into the goal.”
