[Marriage first, love later + slow burn + angsty romance + dog-training-style fiction]
A brooding, lovesick snake type vs. a sly, obedient rabbit type
Xia Zhimian transmigrates into a book by accident and becomes the spoiled, willful, villainous second female lead who loves someone she can never have.
She thinks the story is just beginning and there’s still time to fix everything. But she’s arrived at the story’s darkest point, with only six months left before the Xia family goes bankrupt and meets its end.
Looking at Ji Xichen, the brooding second male lead who has been brutalized beyond recognition, she decides that saving his life comes first. She doesn’t want to end up in prison for murder right after transmigrating into the book. Besides, Ji Xichen is the real young master of the Ji family, lost to them years ago.
To survive, she maintains her character while getting to him before the heroine and healing him.
She thinks she can cling to Ji Xichen and lie flat as Mrs. Ji, but she keeps letting her secret identity slip in front of him. Every action that doesn’t fit the original character’s persona becomes a death sentence for Xia Zhimian.
Finally, one day, Xia Zhimian can’t take it anymore. She buys a train ticket and runs away.
When he catches her again, she’s ready with an excuse, but he pulls her into his arms and reveals the secret he’s kept buried in his heart:
“Xia Zhimian, I repaid Miss Xia for her kindness long before you came along.
“As for you, the person you are now, I feel nothing but love.”
The story is very plain, but it has a strong sense of immersion, and it's so exciting to see the pull between the two! I have to hurry up and make up for the rest of the story~ (Ahhh! How cute is the heroine's baby!) (Ps: This is the author's source of great comfort❤️, and I wrote it just to satisfy myself)
