Journey to the West: Gods and Buddhas / Revisiting the Journey to the West / The Gods and Buddhas Are Dead / A New World / The Destined One
This world is strange. The Jade Rabbit has turned red-haired, Wu Gang has lost his head, and some old man who can see the future calls me the Destined One, claiming that the gods and Buddhas are dead.
But none of that matters, because those are events that happen later in the story. Right now, I have to introduce myself. If things don't go smoothly, this might turn into a final statement instead:
Hello, everyone. My name is Jin Xing. I'm not the Venus in the sky, nor some inexplicable Venus. I'm a person.
Unless something unexpected happens, if I don't fight back right now, I'll soon be dead.
Because they're actually going to make a rabbit eat a person! And what a coincidence: I'm not the rabbit. I'm the person in "a rabbit eats a person."
If people really turn into stars after they die, then it makes sense for everyone to call me Jin Xing.
But I still want to say: Damn it, rabbits are supposed to eat their greens!
