Slay the Gods: The Great Sage, My Guardian Spirit, Descends

P.S. A Slay the Gods fanfic. The protagonist isn't brainless, and there's only one heroine: Hongying.

Chen Zilin is an ordinary senior high school student in Cangnan. The only unusual thing about him is the book about the apocalypse inside his head. The fog will descend in April, the gods will awaken in the west, and his childhood friend Lin Qiye will spread golden wings for the first time in a hospital bed in Room 315 of Renji Hospital.

He doesn't want the tragedies in that book to come true. So he stops the truck, pushes open the hospital room door, and just as the stitched-up monster lunges at him, he hears a carefree voice ring out inside his chest

"Well, look who finally decided to call me."

The phantom of an ash-gray stone monkey opens its golden-flame eyes behind him. Its wild, untamed presence crushes the fear filling the entire corridor. The voice yawns. "Three seconds. I'll get it done right. You can handle the rest yourself."

Chen Zilin looks down at his bloodied fist, then up at the fog devouring the city ahead. He knows that from this moment on, the sleeping Heavenly Court, and that irreverent Great Sage Equal to Heaven, are slowly coming back to life.
